In a fiercely contested Operational Ten Pin Bowling competition held at the Superbowl in Colchester, Trevor Rogers from the Mobile Patrol team emerged as the new Oakpark Bowling championi.
Trevor snatched the title from Pete Sutton, with a blistering finish of 3 Strikes and a 9 from his last four bowls.Dave Foster, a previous but now fading championi was surprisingly wayward on the night with his tactic of hurling the bowl down the lane at 26.8 Miles per Hour proving ineffective and downright dangerous to bowlers in the neighbouring lanes!
Steve Batch promised much, yet delivered little on the night, although his missus tells the editor that this is a common problem!
Whilst Trevor disappeared on a lap of honour (or at least thats where he told us he went)?? Pete was seen crying in his flat beer and lambasting the Superbowl staff demanding a re-count!!
The Oakpark Bowling Pin will now be placed in the Drivers Rest/smoke room, where it will probably die from the effects of passive smoking!
For the record, scores on the night were as follows;
Trevor Rogers 290 points Pete Sutton 284 points Steve Batchelor 273 points Dave "fozzie" Foster 229 points
